Drugs are substances that alter chemicals in the human body.  Speed, for example, is a kind of drug that increases blood pressure and stimulates the nervous system to create energy in the user.  Some groups use speed in small amounts for certain desired effects such as students and drivers who use it to keep them awake.  Athletes use speed to strengthen their bodies and weight watchers to decrease their appetite.  At first users will feel energized and happy.  Later they will feel depressed, tired, and aggressive.  Research indicates that addictive drugs are substances that are addicting.  Users become used to the drug and increase dosage to maintain the same effects.  Drugs are therefore dangerous and should be avoided.

For instance, amphetamine is a kind of drug which encourages blood pressure and stimulates the nervous system in order to energize the drug taker. Some groups of people take only a small amount of amphetamine to achieve certain desired results. For example, students and drivers take speed in order to not be drowsy. Athletes take speed to strengthen the body, and those who are on a dietary regimen use amphetamine to decrease the appetite. Drug-takers initially feel energetic and happy, but then they will feel depressed, fatigued and aggressive. Research defines drugs as addictive substances. The drug-taker will become used to the drugs and will increase the amount of drugs used to maintain the same response. Therefore, drugs are dangerous and everyone should avoid them.
