Congress on Environmental Morals and Environmental Culture in Thailand

Exploration into Networking in the Global Environment
The objective of this 3rd Congress of the International Association of
Earth Environment and Global Citizen is to explore the possibility of
a comprehensive environmental ethics and its embodiment in environmental
education. Towards these ends we will exchange information in the symposium
and during discussion time, and take part in hands-on activities in workshops
on both the Thai and Japanese sides. In the symposium we will demonstrate
the use of the internet in making educational information available. We
will also exchange information from the perspective of environmental morals
and environmental culture. There will be both a general research presentations
and a students' meeting. In addition, during our eco-tour we will be able
to do bird watching and nature trail in a national park, as well as planting
mangroves at a forestry area.
Any person with interests in environmental morals and culture, Thailand's
rain forests or international understanding is invited to participate
in the tour. Any person who would like to make a research presentation
is invited to apply.

on nature trail, observing an eco-forest and gaining knowledge of traditional
culture in Korat park

Thai and Japanese sides: Dr. Preang Kitratporn, President of Pranakhon
and Prof. Fumiaki Taniguchi, President of International Association.
10:00-10:30 Memorial message: UNESCO and Prof. Kaoru Takasaka, visiting
professor of Chulalonkorn Univ.
10:30-12:00 Keynote Speech: Prof. Taniguchi, President of the International
Association, and Prof. Laddawan Kanhasuwan.
Translator in the morning: Prof. Saowlak Suriyawongpaisal. 12:30-13:30

7. Confirmation
(1) An executive committee is set up for the International Congress
in each country. The Thai organization is set up mainly by members of
the graduate school of Environmental Studies at Phranakhon. If needed,
ask for other members from other universities or organizations.
(2) President of the Congress may be President of Phranakhon (Dr.Preang
Kitratporn), and secondly, Director of the executive committee (Dr.Csump
Thiyt and Prof. Laddawan Kanhasuwan) and Vice Director (Assistant Prof.
Siriwat Soondarotok) should be selected on the Thai side.
8. Preparations
(1) So as to make a program
with the Congress summaries (abstracts) written in each language, all
speakers of Thai and Japanese should hand in their abstracts to each executive
committee beforehand.
(2) Needed for summary
1) opening address by President Kitratporn and President Taniguchi
2) abstracts of keynote speeches by Prof.Kanhasuwan and Prof. Taniguchi
3) abstract of research presentation
4) Name, position of university or organization, theme of the presentation
should be givento other executive committee beforehand
(3) After finishing the Congress, speakers are required to write their
papers in English for publishing the within three months for publication
of the conference proceeding.
9. Congress Facilities
(1) Rooms
1) 1 large room for opening address, keynote speech, workshops and symposium
2) 5 middle-sized rooms for participants' free room and executive committee
room
(2) Equipment
1) 3 slide projectors and 3 overhead projectors for each sector of presentation
2) 2 VTRs in the large room and in one middle-sized room
3) Thai / Japanese translators (We will ask Prof.Suriyawongpaisal of Chulalonkorn)
