2 dead in 10-wheeler collision with pickup

Rangsit Station Police in Pathum Thani Province along with medics rushed to investigate a crash scene after a report at 10:30 p.m. on November 29 indicating that a truck had hit a pickup and that there were casualties.

A silver Toyota pick-up was found, severely damaged, at the scene with one dead man inside identified as Boontiam Kamtawee, 32.  Fifteen meters from the scene, another victim, Tanet Kamtawee, 19, was found dead, presumably immediately, since the body was found with a broken neck, arms and legs.

Investigation revealed that before the accident the Toyota pickup, heading into Rangsit, tried and failed to overtake a sedan that had no license plate on it, resulting in a head-on collision with a ten-wheeler approaching at high speed and causing the two deaths.  The truck driver fled the scene.
