! Test 4 Return: Marks for test 4 (noodles) are here (identified by student ID) along with averages for all tests so far. I have meetings off and on in the next few days so I'll leave test 4 papers with Department of English Office (BRK 1110) staff for you to pick up. Note that they close at 4:30 p.m.

! Dusit Thani Trip: We will not have our next informative text class at Dusit Thani this Monday, April 2. Our study trip there may be scheduled for April 30 instead but I will confirm later. April 2 class, alas, is held in BRK 308 as usual. Bring your translations and questions for exercises 4 and 5 for discussion.

Valentine's Day Class: For class on February 14, each student prepares information for an idiomatic, accurate and preferable translation of the following assigned terms, using 1) appropriate English original source for news text examples (from these and like publications: ABC, AFP, Al Jazeera, BBC, CBC, The Guardian, Haaretz, The Independent, The Indian Express, The New York Times, The New Zealand Herald, Reuters, The Times, The Times of India, The Washington Post), 2) suitable authoritative references (such as dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopedias, corpora), and 3) official websites on specific content topics to inform your decision and discussion. E-mail your information, translation and alternatives to me before class, arranged in a format that fits our usual discussion page structure.
