! The Crucible Acts 3 and 4 Session: Acharn Proud will be holding a class session for her students and others who would like to discuss the last two acts of The Crucible on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 4 to 6 p.m. in Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building room 601/3 (about 30-person capacity).

 

! Last of The Great Gatsby on Sale: The Great Gatsby is still available for purchase at the Department of English Office (BRK 1110) at a discount price of 74 baht. Only 7 copies left. The Crucible is sold out.
 

! Lit Lunch is on Mondays at the Arts cafeteria from noon to 1 p.m. for all who want to chat some more after class. Look for a table with the "Lit Lunch" sign on it near the teachers' tables.

Requirements and Expectations

  • Reading Responses: Aside from occasional writing of other kinds, reading responses are useful exercises that attempt to explain, discuss or comment on a question that you pose about the reading. No more than one page double-spaced is expected per response but it should be well thought out. See samples.

  • Attendance and Participation: Discussion of the texts will be a big part of this class and students are encouraged to express their opinions, share observations and ask questions. Come prepared to discuss the reading material.

  • There will be a midterm, a final exam, and a final paper.
