ในวันแรม 15 ค่ำ  เดือน 10 ของทุกปี  ชาวเพชรบูรณ์จะร่วมกันอัญเชิญพระสำคัญของจังหวัด

On the new moon of the tenth Thai month of every year, Phetchabun residents will bring out an important Buddha statue of the province,

อันเป็นพระปางสมาธิหล่อด้วยทองสำริด สูง  18 นิ้ว

an 18-inch bronze figure in the meditative lotus position,

เข้าพิธีอุ้มพระดำน้ำที่ปฏิบัติกันมาหลายชั่วคน

to perform the generations-old ceremony of holding the Buddha underwater,

 
โดยมีผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเป็นผู้อุ้มพระพุทธ รูปลงไปในน้ำที่บริเวณท่าน้ำวัดโบสถ์ชนะมาร

with the Governor carrying the Buddha into the water at the pier of the Bot Chana Mara Temple.

ด้วย เชื่อกันว่าพิธีนี้ทำให้ฝนฟ้าตกต้องตามฤดูกาล  ข้าวปลาอาหารสมบูรณ์

It is believed that this ceremony will make the rains fall seasonally and food plentiful.

ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดจะอัญเชิญพระพุทธรูปนี้ไว้เหนือหัว  แล้วค่อย ๆ ดำน้ำลงไป

The Governor will raise the Buddha statue above his head and slowly lower himself into the water,

 
โดยหันหน้าไปทางเหนือ 3 ครั้ง  และทางใต้  3  ครั้ง

facing north three times and facing south three times

เพื่อแสดงว่าเป็นการดูแลความ เป็นอยู่ของประชาชนโดยทั่วถึง

to symbolize the thorough attention to the welfare of the people.

เมื่อเสร็จพิธีดำน้ำ  ชาวบ้านจะตักน้ำรดศีรษะของตนและรดกันเองเพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคล

After the ceremony, residents will pour the water over their heads and on each other for good luck.

ประเพณีนี้มีตำนานว่า  ชาวประมงกลุ่มหนึ่งออกหาปลาในแม่น้ำป่าสักทุกวัน

This ceremony has a legend that tells of a group of fishermen who went out to fish in the Pa Sak River every day.

วันหนึ่งเกิดเหตุประหลาด  ตั้งแต่เช้าจรดเย็นไม่ได้ปลาเลยสักตัว

One day a strange thing happened; from morning to evening, they could not catch a single fish.

ระหว่างที่นั่งปรึกษาหารือกันอยู่ว่าจะทำเช่นใดต่อไป

As they sat discussing what to do next,

มีน้ำวนขนาดใหญ่  กลางน้ำวนมีพระพุทธรูปลอยขึ้นมา  ชาวประมงที่เห็นเหตุการณ์จึง

A large whirlpool appeared, and from its center rose a Buddha statue. The fishermen who witnessed this then

ลงไปอัญเชิญขึ้นมาบนตลิ่งและนำไปประดิษฐานที่วัดไตรภูมิเพื่อให้ผู้คนได้กราบไหว้ บูชา

went down to bring it up on the bank and installed it at Tribhumi Temple for people to worship.

On the 15th day of the 10th waning moon every year, the people of Petchabun come together to parade the main Buddha image of the province, which is an 18-inch high image in meditation posture made of bronze. This ceremony of immersing the image in water is an ancient tradition of Petchabun Province. In this ceremony, the Petchabun governor carries the image and immerses himself in the water at Wat Bot Chanamann's pier. The ceremony is believed to bring rain in the right season and crops will flourish. The provincial governor carries the Buddha image above his head and slowly lowers himself into the water three times facing the north and another three times facing the south to show that he will look after the people's well-being. After the ceremony, the locals will pour water from the river onto their own heads and each other's heads for auspiciousness. Legend has it that a group of fishermen went fishing every day at the Pasak River. One day, a strange thing happened. From morning till afternoon, they caught nothing. While they were consulting each other about what they should do, the river turned into a large whirlpool, from the middle of which a Buddha image emerged. The fishermen who witnessed the incident went into the water and brought it onto the land. They later enshrined it at Tribhumi Temple for people to pay homage to.

The belief is that this ritual will bring seasonal rains and bountiful harvest. The Governor holds the Buddha overhead and slowly lowers himself into the stream, facing north and south thrice each to represent the comprehensive reach of welfare to the people. When this is complete, locals will take up the water and pour it over their heads and on each other as a blessing.
