Did
you know that before beauty products are made available, they
are often tested on animals? In one test, to see whether a
substance in lipstick is harmful to the human body, scientists
will force feed it to animals, which are usually rats. Or if
they want to know the eye irritancy of a new shampoo, it would
be dripped into the eye of rabbits and the results recorded
over seven days. Face cream is tested on rabbit skin by
shaving off the fur and applying the cream to observe its
effects.
